Warren Trask was a high-successful businessman who worked in computer software development, and was employed by Ubient Software. Trask created the first-generation of enzyme-based computer software that Ubient's CEO Drew Imroth, realized the potential value of it and paid Trask several hundred thousand dollars for the design.

Trask agreed, though later realized he had been swindeled when Imroth used the revolutionary design to earn billions. Trask took Imroth to court, but since Imroth had paid him an amount of money Trask had already accepted for the design, the case was dropped.

Ruinned, Trask became suicidally depressed, and his health and marriage deteriorated and he ended up living at his daughter Eileen's house.

When promicin was distributed to the world by Jordan Collier, Trask, feeling he had nothing left to loose, convinced Eileen to let him take the shot. About a month later, Trask suffered a brain aneurysm and fell into a coma, with him having to be put on full life-support at his house for him to live.

Though initially believed to have narrowly survived the 50-50 chance of promicin-rejection, it was later revealed the aneurysm had happened naturally. Trask, though physically comatose, was somehow conscious in his mind and discovered he had the ability of technopathy, to allow him to control machines.

Seeing the potential of his ability for revenge against Imroth and promote the Promicin Movement's statement of change to everyone, Trask used his life-support machinery to connect to emergency services database and use that to spread onto the internet itself, infecting Ubient's general banking systems, causing ATM's and computers to crash and give out all their money, and for prices on the stock market to plummet. Trask also released notes saying "These little scraps of green paper your fighting over are now worthless. Welcome to the New World", and later caused computers to display a manifesto calling for the destruction of all computer software.

Unfortunately, Trask made the mistake of using many semi-colons and adress Imroth as "Mr. Puppet-Master", which was noticed by NTAC Theory Room Worker Abigail Hunnicutt when comparing all the hate-mail Imroth recieved over the years for potential suspects. NTAC Agents Tom Baldwin and Diana Skouris used this to track Warren down.

Baldwin, secretly a member of The Marked, pressured NTAC Regional Director Meghan Doyle to do more than simply cut off Trask's internet and phone access, such as putting Trask on the promicin-inhibitor. Doyle however couldn't, as Trask's doctors couldn't introduce inhibitor into Trask's system as it wasn't strong enough and it would kill him.

Baldwin seemingly accepted to let NTAC's lawyers handle it, but, under pressure from Imroth, also a Marked agent, to "sort it out", Baldwin assured Imroth that the situation was under control and he would deal with Trask. Baldwin promptly stole a vehicle and crashed it on purpose into a power pole in Warren's neighbourhood. This served to shut down the majority of Warren's life-support machinery, and Eileen had to go to another neighbourhood for phone access to the hospital. By the time the paramedics arrived, Trask was dead.

After his death, the affected computer systems ran smoothly again, the stock market was saved and Ubient Software secure, but before his death, Trask uploaded all of Imroth's personal financial information onto the Internet, that when properly looked at, would be seen by some as suspicious (Ubient was really a financial and political backer of the Marked's activities). As such, Imroth was ordered to commit suicide, so Trask got his revenge after all.

Baldwin, when free of the Marked, mourned Trask's death after reading his obituary, and also others who had died when connected to him, from a photo and painting.
