Tyler Downing is a 4400. After coming off the promicin-inhibitor, Tyler was among the first of the majority of the 4400 population whose powers were supressed to gain an ability; electrokinesis, which allowed him to alter energy currents and turn electrical-powered devices on and off. Shortly after his ability manifested, Tyler attended school at The 4400 Center, and befriended Maia Skouris. Tyler, Maia and three other 4400 children were each hunted down and abducted by a future agents claiming to be Sarah Rutledge. Tyler, however, was returned when "Sarah" made a deal with Tom Baldwin.
[edit] Alternate Future
In the new timeline created from the children's abduction, Tyler was sent many years into the past with altered memories of his history. Tyler lived out his life in the past, where he graduated first in his engineering class at Yale University in 1893, and became world-famous for inventing a synthetic petroleum fuel in 1915, ending pollution.
