The 4400 Return Site and Return Date are debatable. The Ball of Light landed either next to Mount Rainier or Highland Beach on either July 11 or August 14, 2004. The actual event can be witnessed in the Pilot.

Early episodes give the location as being a lake next to Mt. Rainier, while later episodes give the location as being Highland Beach.

During an interview in quarantine, Shawn told Tom that he remembered, "Nothing. One minute I'm sitting on the beach with Kyle, the next minute I'm standing next to some mountain [Mt. Rainier] with a couple thousand strangers standing beside me."

A group of 4400s were assembling at the return site a few weeks after being released from quarantine, and Jordan Collier introduced himself there, telling everyone that he had a place nearby.

Shawn and Nikki Hudson once visited the return site, and Nikki asked why they returned the 4400 there and "not the White House lawn or Times Square?" An episode from the third season revealed that the 4400 were returned to Seattle because of the Starzl Mutation.

Nina Jarvis said in Gone that the 4400 were returned to Highland Beach. The trivia game at the website also says that Highland Beach was the return site.

The website gives the date as being July 11, 2004, the day The 4400 premiered. Diana said in Mommy's Bosses that the 4400 were returned on August 14, 2004. This was confirmed by flashback scenes in that episode.
