NBC hired companies in San Francisco, Houston, and Boston to stencil graffiti messages into sidewalks as an early promotion for the 4400.
NBC paid the city of San Francisco $103,000 for the incident. $4,000 for the cost of cleaning up the graffiti, $3,000 for the cost of investigating the incident, and a $96,000 donation to the Clean City Fund.
