If every 4400 had an equivalent in the X-Men, Isabelle's would be Dark Phoenix.

[edit] Psychology of Good and Evil
I was just thinking it might be worth a mention to cite the fact that Isabelle's sense of right and wrong is sort of screwed up with her rapid aging and all. You learn in your childhood what is "right" and "wrong", and Isabelle missed that part of life. I just thought it was worth mentioning her characters sort of warped psychology, and that if she's evil, she's not really evil on purpose.
I am not so sure about this. Depending on which psychology philosophy you subscribe to, there is ingrained in each person a knowledge of what is right and wrong -- killing is bad, stealing is wrong, etc. regardless of whether you choose to follow it. When I see Isabelle, isn't it more of a child acting out what they want? For example, suppose a child wanted a cookie and mom said no; if the same child had a special ability, they might use that to get the cookie, similar to the child who climbs up on the counter to get the cookie when mom isn't looking. They know they shouldn't because they were told not to, but they choose to ignore that. Isabelle may show no remorse, but isn't it because they didn't give her what she wanted when she wanted it. Killing Matthew because he tried to stop you could be likened to the child who bodily injures the person who won't give them a toy. They know its wrong, but they do it anyway. Isabelle believes she is bad and wants to be stopped from it . . . she says so. Everyone she talks to is saying "this is who you are; accept it; be evil and we will stop you." To a two-year-olds mind, it would be confusing and upsetting, and such is the effect we see. Just my nickel's worth . . .
- I look on Isabelle as amoral rather than evil. She knows that killing is considered wrong, but she sees herself as more advanced than the rest of the human race, and believes that her mission is more important than such 'trivial' concerns as morality. Her killing of Matthew demonstrates a certain callous disregard for human life - even though she accepted the mission he gave her, as soon as he was no longer useful to her, he was considered expendable. Also, we don't know how much her personality was predetermined by whoever put her into the womb or controlled after she was born. Over the course of the series it's become increasingly clear that the two factions in the future are interfering much more directly than was at first thought, so it's entirely possible that when she aged rapidly, her personality could have been implanted (or at least altered) by the anti-4400 faction. We also know very little about what Matthew told her about future events - it could be that she was presented with a very convincing argument about the importance of her mission.
I've done a bit of tidying up in the article. I hope nobody objects. --Branfish 04:55, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Age
It says she's 20, but chronologically surely she's just 2? She's just rapidly aged so she LOOKS twenty.
I was thinking about that a week or two back, would one really say she's twenty? It also made me think that Shawn has a thing for younger girls O.o Like that Nikki girl.
How old is Shawn mentally? Actually, I'm not sure how old he is physically, but he was in high school then left. Its a couple of years later and him liking a 20yo would not be "liking younger girls" would it? :) --GeoMike 19:26, 14 August 2006 (EDT)
True true, but I just think it's weird XD
They never really did explain if they ever did anything about that... odd...
I've changed it slightly, tell me what you think. I think its a nice compromise on the issue of her age personally. --81.178.223.193 09:47, 31 August 2006 (EDT)
I always thought it was a little odd that Shawn was never charged with Statutory Rape, since legally she was very much a child. --Branfish 04:57, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Category
Does she belong under The 4400 category? Or just People? She isn't a 4400. --GeoMike 07:33, 22 August 2006 (EDT)
Maybe she should be under "Spawn of the 4400"? There is likely to be more children of 4400s . . . as long as the show stays on the air. --Caroline 17:55, 22 August 2006 (EDT)
I would just leave her in the 4400 category for now. people on the show sorta use the word 4400 as if it were a race . -KickCity903
It's interesting you say that. The show brings to light the tendency of people to be xenophobic. Despite a society that says it celebrates diversity, there will always be one group of people who are considered "different" and treated with fear/disrespect/fill-in-the-blanks. It is my opinion that people like to classify things in contrast to themselves (i.e. hair color, skin tone, ethnicity, powers, etc.) Mutants, those with special powers, etc. will just be another classification. --Caroline 18:47, 23 August 2006 (EDT)
- Isabelle is NOT one of the 4400. See below. The Radio Star 00:04, 2 October 2006 (EDT)
- Re: the xenophobia issue, I've always seen the 4400 as a metaphor for immigrants, particularly Muslims - most of them are harmless or even useful and productive members of society, but a few bad eggs make everybody terrified of them all, thinking that they're all going to be terrorists. --Branfish 05:00, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Isabelle is NOT one of the 4400
Isabelle's Official Profile states that she was not one of the 4400 because she was in the womb at the time of the count. It is incorrect to refer to her as one of the 4400, so I removed such references from the article. The Radio Star 00:03, 2 October 2006 (EDT)
[edit] 2nd Actress for Adult Isabelle?
I wonder why they had a 2nd actress for adult Isabelle (appeared in Mommy's bosses) only. --GeoMike 12:51, 26 October 2006 (EDT)
- They just decided to turn Isabelle into an adult at the very end of the second season, and they didn't have a permanant actress picked out yet. So they had Cristie Lang take the three second spot. --The Radio Star 18:25, 26 October 2006 (EDT)
- Speaking of which, I'm removing Lang from the list of actresses who have portrayed Isabelle. It just makes the box wider without any real gain. --The Radio Star 19:02, 26 October 2006 (EDT)
- I think Lang should be reinstated into the list. Otherwise it's simply not a complete list. --Branfish 05:03, 1 April 2007 (EDT)

I agree since the guy who played The Master for a about 10 seconds in the Doctor Who TV movie is on the list of acotrs who played him on Wikipedia -- Jordan C 23:32 2 April 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Blog
She has a blog on the USANetwork website, but I don't care to copy it over to the wiki. I hope she dies in the beginning of Season 4. --GeoMike 22:14, 6 December 2006 (EST)
- Isabelle's Blog Fat chance on seeing her dead. I'd bet $1,000 that she's going to get some of that street promicin and inject it into herself, returning to her former, powerful state. --The Radio Star 22:45, 6 December 2006 (EST)
- The anti-promicin stuff seemed to have been specifically designed to combat Isabelle, so it seems likely to me that it has made her incapable of using promicin to reacquire powers. --Branfish 05:02, 1 April 2007 (EDT)
- Isabelle is a major character. Everyone loves to hate her. My thoughts are that the US Army or something will provide a cure for her allergy to promicin. I also think that she still has one ability left. She seems to know the truth about some situations. We never saw her contacting the future in one way or another. And she is so sure that her and Tom were used by the future. It's like having the opposite ability of Maia. Kind of like Good vs Evil, Ying-Yang etc. --Netslaveone 04:08, 30 June 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Creepy guy
Who is the new creepy guy poking and proding on Isabelle? --GeoMike 09:31, 26 June 2007 (EDT)
- That's what I was wondering because she acted like it should be some sort of guy everyone knows. Either he'll pop up again or it was just a very peculiar one-shot character. --Kaito1412 00:14, 28 June 2007 (EDT)
[edit] Isabelle's Ability
Isabelle has the ability to turn every 4400s ability against them. I don't know if "Ability Mirroring" is a right term but it's an ability. Hawkeye6624 thinks that this contradicts the theory that she has every 4400 power. Isabelle herself tells that she can do that. She made Jane Nance's pets kill her (she could communicate with animals, she burns Jorge Molina (he can control fire) and made Daniel Armand crazy. It is a proven ability and has to be recorded somehow --Netslaveone 12:06, 6 July 2007 (EDT)
