T.J. Kim was a 4400 fond of advanced technology. When Jordan Collier began rallying the 4400 to become more independant and create a society of their own, T.J. was one of his many followers. Following Collier's assasination by Kyle Baldwin, T.J. was incensed that NTAC, despite the promises, failed to protect Collier, and began believing that NTAC had deliberately let Collier die, and began sending threatening e-mails over her internet phone to all NTAC personnel under the I.P name; "Thunder_77". When T.J. went into NTAC Medical for a standard checkup (and secret dosage of the promicin inhibitor), T.J. saw an opportunity to cripple NTAC by using her ability, Rage Bombs, to drive all of the men in the building crazy due to heightened adrenaline, which led to anxiety, rage and paranoia. This worked perfectly, as it led to the deaths of one 4400, 2 NSA Agents and 3 NTAC Agents and shook the foundations of the agency to is core before escaping with ease. NTAC tried to find T.J. but their efforts failed, and she was among the many hundreds of 4400 who escaped round-up back into quarantine during the promicin-inhibitor crisis, but was cured of the inhibitor with an antidote made by Kevin Burkhoff. This allowed her to refine her ability, to use Rage Bombs on more specific targets without affecting any others despite proximity.

T.J. was among the more extremist 4400's that believed Dennis Ryland must die for his involvement in the inhibitor scandal, and joined together as the Nova Group, a defensive wing of the 4400 funded by Shawn Farrell and led by Daniel Armand, with T.J. as one of its most prominent members, and all dedicated to defending the 4400 against the government. Nova agreed that Ryland and his 6 conspirators had to die, and set out to kill them all, with T.J. going after Ryland himself during his trial. T.J. snuck into the courtroom, disguised as a photographer for the many journalists in the room. T.J. used her enhanced ability to set off another Rage Bomb, causing Ryland's attorney to go temporarily insane and attack him with his pen. During the chaos of the situation, T.J. attempted to escape, and successfully made it to the street, but Tom Baldwin, who had become a personal enemy of T.J. because of his efforts to restore order in the lockdown of NTAC, followed and pursued her down the street after she lost her disguise after being knock down by a civilian. T.J. made it to a waiting car, but Baldwin catched up and, after attracting her attention by yelling her name, fired a single bullet that hit T.J. in the chest, although she was able to escape. T.J.'s wound led to internal bleeding and a stomach infection, which brought her to the brink of death, forcing Nova member Gary Navarro to take her place in assasinating Ryland. Armand convinced Shawn, who had grown disillusioned with the Nova Group following their terrorist activities, to use his healing abilities to save T.J. life. T.J grew to have feelings for Shawn following this incident, as she thought she owed him her life. When the time came to collect money for Nova to go underground following their terrorist activities and successful assasination of Ryland's co-conspirators, Armand arranged to meet Shawn for the transaction. Anticipating a sting, Armand sent T.J on his behalf, which turned out to be correct as Shawn was cooperating with NTAC and planned to bring Armand in. T.J. was tranquilized and taken into NTAC custody, but before passing out, said Shawn had "sold us out".

T.J. remained in NTAC custody, with concentrated promicin-inhibitor running through her veins to stop her from using her ability. Realising that T.J. mustn't be allowed to surrender her knowledge of the Nova Group to NTAC, Armand selected Boyd Gelder, a Nova member with the ability of optical camouflage (at his own request), to assasinate T.J. Boyd successfully infiltrated NTAC under the guise of Baldwin, concealing a disassembled pistol in his jacket, and interrogated T.J. over what she had revealed. Convinced she hadn't broken under torture and Nova's secrets were safe, Boyd reassembled his pistol, and shot T.J. twice in the head, killing her.
