The Nova Group was a terrorist organization of 4400's dedicated to defending the 4400 population from the government and help the 4400 in their mission into saving humanity from the Catastrophe.

[edit] Origins

Daniel Armand, a 4400 and expert terrorist leader, approached Shawn Farrell after the Operation: Firewall's promicin-inhibitor scandal. Daniel proposed a select team of 4400's with deadly abilities could be formed to defend the 4400 should the rest of the government follow Dennis Ryland's views on stopping the 4400 from accomplishing their mission. Shawn accepted, on the condition that the group was entirely defensive in nature, and funded the group with enough money to join together and begin planning their operations. Originally, there were a total of 37 members.

[edit] Attacks

The group began operations against the government by first assassinated all 6 members of Operation: Firewall, and then attacking Ryland at his court hearings. Nova then publicly announced its existence to NTAC, declaring it was "the defensive wing of the 4400" and would retaliate against all possible threats against the 4400, and also would cause "another demonstration of power" on October 19th.

Paranoid about more assasinations, Gary Navarro was sent by the NSA to find the Nova group using his telepathic abilities. Little did anyone know, was that Gary himself was a Nova member (after being used to kill 8 foreign 4400's on the pretense of national security), and having been sent by Armand to kill Ryland after TJ Kim's efforts failed. After laying an elaborate trail to Wesley Hauser, a 4400 and anti-government extremist who had recently died due to bipolar disorder with the aid of other Nova members, attempted to kill Ryland with poison while he was recovering from TJ's initial attack in NTAC Medical. However, the doctors were able to dave Ryland and Gary was captured by NTAC agents Tom Baldwin and Diana Skouris, having uncovered the false trail.

Nova was able to save Gary when Armand broke Gary out of a prison transport (on his way to a secure NSA facility after being brutally tortured over his connection to Nova), but nore before NTAC learned Armand was their leader. Needing another suspect for interrogation, Shawn, having grown disillusioned with the group over their terrorist activities, set up a track with NTAC's help to capture Armand, but instead captured TJ, who had been sent in Armand's place.

All efforts to find out what the October 19th demonstration was failed, but NTAC and the entire world discovered the demonstration wasn't an attack...it was a gift. 1000 square acres of the Nubian Desert had been transformed into a field of fertile and perfectly-eadiable wheat. Despite this acted as a message to non-4400's that 4400's could benefit mankind if allowed, it was also a message to NTAC saying they had the power to change the world dramatically...and their was nothing they could do to stop them.

Nova went underground after their initial activities, and adopted extremely secretive measures to ensure their survival. These measures including tying up every loose end, which included assasinated TJ before she could break under pressure and surrender her Nova secrets to the government.

Eventually, Armand broke the wall of silence, and decided to begin making peace with the 4400 Center, by contacting Richard Tyler with the offer of an alliance, but nevertheless warned him that, if he refused, Shawn, who had been declared a marked man by Nova's agents and assassination plots were in the works, Shawn "wouldn't have a future". When Richard, at Shawn and Matthew Ross's behest, refused, Armand used his personal ability to drive Shawn insane.

This proved to be a fatal mistake, as the immensely-powerful Isabelle Tyler, who loved Shawn, went on the rampage, hunting for Armand in the hopes he would reverse what he did to Shawn. Isabelle murdered several Nova members along the way, but was eventually successful in trapping and capturing Armand at his apartment. After forcing him to reverse the mental damage and restore Shawn's sanity, Isabelle reversed Armand's power on himself, driving him insane, and he was captured by NTAC shortly after.

[edit] End of the Nova Group

With Armand finally in custody, NTAC was able to extract the names and locations of every Nova member from Armand and a massive crackdown began. The crackdown was successful, but the final member, Gary Navarro, was able to escape along with a Nova sympathizer, Alana Mareva, thanks to the help of a personally-involved Baldwin and Skouris. The rest of the group remained in custody at NTAC's detention area, with concentrated promicin-inhibitor flowing through their viens to stop them from using their abilities to escape.

[edit] Revival

It seemed Nova's "war" against the government was over, and its remaining members would wait out their lives in prison while the 4400 were increasingly attacked. Just as it seemed all was hopeless, Jordan Collier, the effective leader of the 4400, was resurrected and sent back by the People from the Future to lead the world to salvation.

Recognising that Nova's members were soldiers willing to die for a higher cause, Jordan considered Nova to be a powerful tool to be used and endorsed, not betrayed (as he chastised Shawn for). Jordan recruited Richard, Shawn, Kevin Burkhoff, Lewis Mesirow, Michael Lawrence and Tess Doerner into the "New Nova Group" and used Lawrence and another unknown member to break the original Nova members out of NTAC's detention area.

With the entire Nova group, including old and new members, at his disposal, Jordan proceeded to steal Haspelcorp's entire stockpile of promicin. When Ryland, Isabelle and the only team of enhanced soldiers currently made for use in the field started looking for the stolen supply, Jordan used Gelder to destroy the soldiers (along with himself), meanwhile the group would help distribute the supply of promicin to the general population in an effort to stop the catastrophe.

The Nova Group, still under Jordan's leadership, is currently distributing promicin to the world.
