Mommy's Bosses was the finale of season two. It was named after the sentence "Mommy's bosses will be punished for betraying us," which appeared as an entry in Maia's Diary earlier in the season.
[edit] Detailed Synopsis
Hundreds of 4400s, including Maia, Alana, and Shawn, become ill from a mysterious illness. Dennis Ryland temporarily returns as head of NTAC. NTAC decides to round up all 4400s and put them back into quarantine until the crisis is over. Legislation is passed in the United States, England, and France to allow this.
Tom and Diana catch a 4400, Nate McCullough. He eventually gives up the location of Richard's safe house in exchange for his own room. Richard, Lily, and Isabelle hid from NTAC in a safehouse. Jordan Collier left 37 of them in case of such an emergency. Dr. Burkhoff shared all of his research with Dr. [[|Max Hudson|Hudson]], but Hudson was unwilling to share any of his work with Dr. Burkhoff. Tom and Diana wonder what's going on. Tom and Diana put a gun to Dr. Hudson's head and he tells them everything he knows. Dr. Hudson was murdered, but it looked like a suicide.
4400 Center employees formed a human wall outside the Center and stayed there for several hours. Marco reluctantly stole some national secrets/medical records from NTAC and shared them with Dr. Burkhoff outside the 4400 Center. He was afraid he would be fired for doing that. NTAC arrives at the 4400 Center to find employees forming a human wall. When they approach the building, the wall breaks, and they are allowed in. Dennis Ryland and the others walk in, and Matthew Ross says, "Welcome to the 4400 Center. Did you come for the tour?" Dennis says, "You know damn good and well why we're here." Matthew Ross is freed from NTAC, and he suggests that NTAC worry about the sick 4400s rather than chasing after well ones. Tom and Diana discovered the Firewall memo. Tom confronts Dennis about it just as he was getting ready to stop Richard's safehouse.
Lily takes Isabelle to a separate safehouse in the middle of the night in order to keep her from being hurt in what was believed to be an inevitable showdown with NTAC. Isabelle makes Lily suffer from delusions. Dr Burkhoff takes promicin from Isabelle. It is taken to quarantine where it is given to Shawn. Shawn uses his ability to cure Maia and others, and promicin is taken from them. Kyle admits to Shawn that he was the one who killed Jordan Collier. Shawn cures Kyle, leading to a mysterious light coming out during an explosion. Isabelle rapidly ages into a 20 year old woman, Kyle turns himself in for shooting Jordan Collier, and Richard develops telekenisis. Dennis is taken from NTAC in handcuffs. Dr. Burkhoff starts injecting himself with promicin, and a mysterious figure who looks a lot like Jordan Collier showed up at Highland Beach.
