[edit] Overview
When Lily was abducted, she was happily married, and had only recently had a daughter named Heidi. All of that was promptly stripped from her the day she was taken. Lily returned with her husband having moved on, and her daughter being told that she wasn't her mom. With no place in the world, she turned to Richard Tyler, a fellow abuctee, for support. Lily found herself becoming attached to Richard and the two would learn that they were closer than they thought, since Lily was pregnant with Richard's baby. They soon married. After giving birth to Isabelle Tyler, Lily found herself sensing things her child was thinking. The three spent a great deal of time on the run from both Jordan Collier and NTAC. Lily was exceptionally protective of Isabelle.
In Season 3, Lily wakes to find a husband who doesn't recognize her. Instead of a 29-year-old, Lily has aged overnight into an elderly woman. Lily soon learns that her daughter has rapidly aged as well, and mother and daughter realize that for one of them to survive the other must die. Lily refuses to entertain the idea that her daughter might be sacrificed for her to live. Lily's condition continues to deteriorate (despite the relief Shawn provides). She and Richard leave The 4400 Center so they can spend their last days in the cabin they once lived in, but Lily passes away in the car when they arrive at the cabin. Richard had her cremated and scattered her ashes at the grave of her grandmother, who was in love with Richard before he was abducted.
[edit] Power Speculation
During season 2, it can be reasoned that her power was to communicate non-verbally with Isabelle (as a baby). Though this isn't much of a power to speak of. Lily hadn't had much time of being off of the promicin inhibitor before her and Isabelle's aging accelerated. It will never be known if Lily had further potential of a greater power. If she didn't have a power then she would have been the first 4400 without one. It is also possible that her ability is to age herself and other people. It is also possible that her ability is to induce precognitive dreams (Wake-Up Call Part 1)
[edit] Imposter
When Isabelle's age regresses, Richard finds Lily alive in the kitchen, and he's given his dream of raising a family. Cruelly, "Lily" is not real, she's a projection from a Positive who can project apparitions by feeding off of the memories of his victims. The fake fades away.
[edit] Notes
- Sometimes in credits the character is listed as Lily Moore Tyler (Moore is her maiden name).
