The Last City is the world's final city in the unaltered timeline. According to Jordan Collier, it is a thousand miles wide with a wall one hundred feet high and is inhabited by a "brutal and powerful elite" who have collected all of the world's resources. Everything on Earth outside the last city is a wasteland, and everyone living outside the city is struggling to survive. The people in the wasteland ask to be let into the final city, but are refused access. Jordan Collier wrote about the last city in his journals and told about it in a television interview.

Collier's description of this city's size may be hyperbole. After all, a wall 100 feet high and 1000 miles (5,280,000 feet) long, even if it is only 1 foot wide, would require 528 million cubic feet of whatever material made up the wall, which is about 4 1/2 times the volume of the Hoover Dam, and would only protect one side of the city. While this may be possible with future technology, the entire area would not likely be what is presently consider "urban", as it would have to be the site of all food production. The city may be largely surrounded by water, with only a small area of land that needs to be walled. Outside of the Last City, there are oceans of bones and fires on the horizon.

The location of the last city is unknown, however it is possibly Seattle or another city in the western United States. However, there is nothing in the show to demonstrate this. We know that the 4400 were likely returned to Seattle because of the Starzl Mutation, so the last city could be anywhere.
