Jeffrey Combs plays the quirky, yet lovable Dr. Kevin Burkhoff on The 4400. He grew up in Lompoc, CA as one of seven siblings. He attended the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts in Santa Maria, and the Professional Actor's Training Program at the University of Washington in Seattle. He spent several years in regional theatre performing at the Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, the Arizona Theatre Company in Tucson, the California Shakespearean Festival, the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles and the South Coast Repertory in Costa Mesa where he received an LA Drama Critics Circle award for his portrayal as Christy in "Playboy of the Western World."

Jeffrey is best known for his characters Dr. Herbert West in the Re-Animator trilogy (Re-Animator, Bride of Re-Animator, and Beyond Re-Animator), the cunning and enigmatic Vorta Weyoun, the Ferengi Liquidator Brunt, (on "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"), and the Andorian officer, Shran (on "Star Trek: Enterprise"). The bright-green color of promicin was choosen as homage to his Re-Animator days. He has appeared in more than 50 episodes of the Star Trek franchise and was the only actor to portray two different, unrelated characters in one episode. Jeffrey has also worked with Peter Jackson in the movie The Frighteners, with Renée Zellweger in Love and a .45, and early in his career stole the spotlight from Steve Martin in a very memorable scene of The Man with Two Brains.

He also appeared in episodes of Hunter, The Twilight Zone, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation as well as doing many voiceovers for both the Batman and Spiderman cartoon series and various video games such as Star Trek: Elite Force 2. On September 11, 2001, a Jeffrey Coombs was on board one of the planes destroyed, and in the confusion it was reported that Jeffrey Combs was dead. He had to make an announcement that he was still alive.
