White Light is also the name of a cult first mentioned in Fear Itself

White Light refers to the aura that eminates from Kyle's body at the end of this episode on Highland Beach.

Tom is furious upon finding out that Warren Lytell took his son Kyle into custody. Diana offers him help in getting Kyle back. Richard suspects that Collier is trying to take control of Lily's life, and as soon as Collier reveals his intentions, Richard and Lily leave Arcadia Estates. Danny snaps at Shawn when he finds out that he and Nikki have slept together. Tom and Diana finally find out what really happened to the 4400, which leaves a disturbing question: is this the end - or just the beginning?

Kyle is sitting watching TV at the hospital. Linda talks to him when she mentions Kyle he says that he isn't Kyle. Tom talks to a doctor says Kyle is experiencing a dissociative disorder. Saying that Kyle feels disconnected to his personality and mermories. Diana and Maia buy some coffee from a stall. Maia tells Diana that the owner is going to fall in love later that day. Maia then says that she doesn't like to see visions of the future and that she wants to be normal like before she was taken. Back at the hospital Kyle asks for the TV to be turned on again but Tom asks what Kyle's looking for as he keeps looking through books and maps and Tom wants to help Kyle look for it. Kyle doesn't answer and just turns the TV back on.

Tom and Dr. Mayhew

Tom leaves the hospital and Warren Lytell and his agents enter the hospital. While Linda gets a drink from the vending machine she sees the agents take Kyle away. He tries to stop them but fails. Kyle whispers into his ear that he now knows where he has to be. Lytell explains that the goverment will look after Kyle from now on and they take him from the hospital.

At NTAC Ryland is angry at Lytell for snatching Kyle from the hospital. Lytell explans that Kyle is the only witness to an abduction and might have some useful information. Ryland mentions that he can't even remenber his own name but Lytell says he will help him remenber. Tom walks in and pushes Lytell against the wall demanding to know where Kyle is. Lytell tells him to get off him then Tom draws his gun and points it at Lytell's neck. Ryland calms down Tom and he puts the gun away. Tom then walks away with Ryland. As Tom leaves NTAC, Diana runs toward him and asks what happened between him and Lytell. Tom walks by and tells Diana to stay out of it. She get's in the car with him.

At Arcadia Estates, Lily's doctor tells Lily that the baby is fine. She then says Lily needs some more amniotic fluid. Lily asks why. Later Lily and Richard are sitting on a bench and ask what type of genetic anomoly. Lily explains that all she knows is that she wants to grow one of the babys chromosomes in a lab. Jordan arrives if Richard plays golf as the golf course is almost ready. Richard replies no and asks about Dr. Kern. She explains thats she is one of the best doctors in the Pacific northwest. Jordan asks Lily how the meeting went yesterday and Lily says it went great. Lily then says that the lobster sushi was a great idea and Jordan explains that they just have to trust him. He tells Richard that Lily had quite an imagination and explains that Lily thought Jordan was trying to take her away from him. Jordan asks Richard if he believes it and Richard answers no. Jordan then leaves.

Outisde a cafe Danny is seen with his new girlfriend by Shawn and Nikki who are in Shawn's car. They talk about when they will tell Danny that he and Nikki are dating. Shawn says he'll do it soon. Shawn says he hates all this sneaking around and misses seeing her. They then kiss. Meanwhile Diana and Tom are at a park. She says that Tom thought Shawn had an ability but never told her. They argue then asks what to do about Kyle.

At Arcadia Estates, Richard hands an employee some sercurity logs. Richard asks to see Jordan's phone logs for the last few weeks as he's been recieving threatening mail. He is handed it and looks at it cannot leave the office. After seeing loads of calls to Dr. Kern he goes to see her. He breaks in and asks why after everytime Lily sees her she (Dr. Kern) calls Jordan. He asks what Jordan knows about Lily's baby that Lily doesn't. At their house Lily wonders how the baby could have Sickle cell anaemia unless the father was black. Richard wonders why Jordan kept this hidden from them. Lily thinks that because the baby has the sickle cell triat it would bring Lily and Richard closer which could be what Jordan doesn't want. Richard decides to go talk to Jordan.

At NTAC, Diana and Marco find Kyle's location by hacking Lytell's computer. At his house, Tom packs some of Kyle's things up and gets the location of a safe house for him after freeing him.

Meanwhile Danny gives Nikki some moonstone earings as he knows she likes but Nikki says she can't accept them. Danny asks why and Nikki reveals that she and Shawn slept together. At a daycare centre Diana goes to pick up Maia and sees Lytell talking with her. Lytell leaves and Diana takes Maia with her. At Arcadia Estates, Richard talks to Jordan but he already knows why he's there. Richard tells Jordan to back off and let them run there own lives. Jordan say ok and Richard leaves.

Tom arrives at Diana's apartment and Diana says goodbye to Maia. Maia tells Tom not to worry as they will find Kyle. She says that Kyle is the answer to everything. Tom and Diana go to where Kyle is being held. Diana tricks the guard into turning around then injects him with something that causes him to pass out. She then calls Tom saying it's safe to enter. Tom enters and pulls off all the wires attached to him. Kyle then says that Highland Beach is where he needs to go. They take him out of the quarantine. Tom starts to drive them to the safe house but Kyle demands they take him to Highland Beach. Meanwhile at NTAC, Lytell tells Ryland to find out where Tom is taking Kyle.

At Arcadia Estates, Jordan talks to Lily and shows her a newspaper article showing Richard being trailed for rape. She asks how he got it and Jordan says he does sercurity checks on everyone who enters the complex. Lily says that this won't change the fact she still loves Richard. Jordan then asks is this the man (Richard) you want to father your baby? Lily confronts Richard about the story and hr explains what happened. He was out at a bar on his 23rd birthday with some people from the barracks when a women came onto him. He then left and she followed him and asked him to go home with her. Richard said no and she started screaming and that was it. Richard claims the storys just a lie. Lily belives him and asks why Jordan would bring it up. Richard says its for Lily to doubt him. Lily then decides that they got to pack whatever they can in 5 minutes and leave.

At NTAC they work out that Tom is going to Highland Beach. Lytell and Ryland leave to go to Highland Beach. At Shawn's house Danny bursts in and starts hitting Shawn. Shawn gets pinned down and uses his life draining ability on Danny. Shawn then stops, gets up, leaves the house and talks to Nikki outside. He says that he loves Nikki then gets into his car and drives away leaving Nikki behind heartbroken.

At Arcadia Estates Richard and Lily just finish putting their bags into the car as Collier arrives and tries to stop them from leaving. Jordan says that the baby could be the key to the future and he can protect it better than anyone. Richard tells Lily to get into the car as she does so Jordan tries to stop her but Richard pulls out his gun.

Lily then starts to have chest pains. As Jordan and his 2 men rush forward Richard knocks out one man and pulls his gun out on the other. Jordan then touches Lily's chest and starts to shake then falls to the ground. Richard knocks out the other man then gets into the car with Lily and they drives away.

Tom arrives at Highland Beach and Kyle gets out and starts walking towards where Shawn was adbucted. Kyle says that he belongs there and runs the soil through his hands. Meanwhile Shawn goes to Arcadia Estates and asks whether he could stay there and Jordan says that because he's a 4400 he can and asks about Shawn's ability.

NTAC arrive at Highland Beach. Kyle then starts taking deep breaths and a white light comes out through his body. Tom runs towards him and is covered in the white light. Afterward he appears standing next to Kyle on Highland Beach during the daytime. Tom talks to Kyle and asks if he is his son. Kyle replies no and says Kyle was meant to be a way to communeicate with Tom and guide in the dealings with the 4400. The problem was that Shawn interrupted the process and was the reason Kyle was in a coma. Outisde of the dream world, Tom and Kyle appear frozen and engulfed in white light unable to hear what's going on in the outside world. NTAC see Diana standing by the white light. Back in the dream world the being explains that it is a human from the future. Tom asks if the 4400 were taken to the future and the being says that they needed them to survive. The being says that humanity is dying out. He also says that only those they could prevent the catastrophe from happening and thats why they were altered and reseeded back into the timeline.

To the hospital...

Tom asks Why here? Why now? and the being says it's because history says this was when the path to oblivion began. Tom is told that he needs to help the 4400. Outside Diana trys to touch Tom in the light but her hand is burned. Lytell pulls out his gun and shoots Kyle. Afterward the connection is broken and the light disappears. Rylands takes Lytell's gun away from him. Kyle passes out then wakes up with the white light inside him shaking then exploding causeing a giant flash. Kyle lifts up his head and looks and around. When he sees Tom he says "dad" and seems back to normal. Tom and Kyle hug.

Six months later and we see Richard and Lily's cabin. As Richard places more wood into the fire Lily gets up and says shes going to give birth soon. They get into the car and drive to the hospital. As they drive by the trees behind them start to bend toward the car.
